Media Samples
These media samples showcase my experience creating social media content, working with brands, developing hypothetical PR campaigns for school and producing a video news story, with an emphasis on audience engagement and visual storytelling.
Social Media Management
College of Charleston Alumni:
I was selected alongside two other communications students to create social media content for College of Charleston Alumni in exchange for complimentary event tickets. I created Canva graphics, wrote captions and produced Reels to promote alumni events, including A Charleston Affair. One post received 428 likes, 23 comments and 173 shares.
Academic Social Media Work:
These hypothetical social media posts promote the "Reading Is Cool" campaign. Each week, Charleston Battery players share their favorite children's books with third graders, coach soccer skills, and engage in challenges.
Players also post videos and photos of book-themed soccer activities, encouraging followers to join in the fun and donate to the Battery Book Bonanza book drive.
The Instagram post highlights these points with visuals and text, while the Twitter post focuses on promoting the book drive directly. The Facebook post shares campaign results to reach a broader audience.
Through this process, I learned how to combine creativity with engagement and effectively promote a PR campaign.
Brand Ambassador Content
Through ambassador programs with brands like Happy Dad, I have strengthened my understanding of algorithms and what will bring the most engagement. Aside from working with Happy Dad, I have been a brand ambassador for STARFIT and Fashion Nova.
Production & Editing
This is a news story on the usage of fake IDs in Charleston in the style of man-on-the-street interviews.
I collaborated with a partner to create sound bites, shoot b-roll, and interview different demographics in Charleston.
This taught me the technicalities behind broadcast journalism. I learned how to get comfortable on camera, the proper camera shot for interviewing people, and how to edit on iMovie.
The process was super enjoyable and gave me perspective from a police officer, a bouncer, and a College of Charleston student.
